Keep your face in optimal shape for a lifetime

You can get a facelift the natural and self-loving way…all you need are clean hands, a clean face and a touch of devotion

Exercise the face

Just as it is important to eat well and exercise the body so it is to exercise the face. This is not a new idea, ancient traditions of China, India and Egypt all emphasized the importance of facial exercises and massage to upkeep one’s musculature and lymphatic health, preserve one’s facial features and slow down age-related deterioration.

Happy Face

Face Yoga's historical origins can be traced back to ancient Indian practices such as Ayurveda and to the very first positions of Yoga. In our day and age, Face Yoga is a true liberation from the vicious “anti-aging” cycle that depends on expensive products, chemicals and invasive interventions to force upon us an illusion of youth and although there’s nothing wrong with relying on such methods, nothing can compare to the simplicity of Face Yoga. It’s like finding an oasis in the middle of a desert.

Through consistent daily practice, you will be amazed at how much better you look and feel. Train the face in a targeted and structured way and you can say goodbye to the drooping and sagging of the muscles and skin.

It’s time to let go of society’s depiction of age as a progressive decline in health and beauty and, instead, allow your body to delight and surprise you in unexpected ways. The aging process is a privilege so why not live it with confidence and grace? The secret to remaining young is no more than to stop going against the aging process while learning to flow with it by consistently making choices that have your best interest at heart. It’s that simple.

What is Face Yoga?

Face Yoga is a gentle discipline that helps you to become more naturally beautiful and youthful, to feel at home in your own skin, and to gradually move towards those lifestyle habits that promote radiant health. The movements are controlled and work all 3 of the layers of the skin together. There’s no dragging or pulling or kneading the skin but rather just a very light touch, resulting in a profound transformation to the face.

Face Yoga is founded on 5 basic principles in accordance with the Danielle Collins Face Yoga method:

  • Facial exercises: A set of movements and positions that isolate and activate individual muscles in order to lift and tone them. Apart from reducing wrinkles, enhancing contours and regaining a more firm and lifted appearance, these poses also help us to become mindful of the expressions we habitually make and how they are connected to specific thoughts and emotions.
  • Facial massage: Gentle “feather-like” touch and strokes that increase circulation and invite the lymphatic system to naturally cleanse the body, bringing forth a more radiant and glowing complexion. The delicate tapping actions that are performed stimulate collagen and elastin production and render the skin more taut and plump. These also aid in understanding where stress is stored in the face and consequently help to release it.
  • Acupressure: A technique that uses the pads of the fingers to apply manual pressure on specific points of the face that, in turn, are connected to various organs and energy pathways in the body. By holding firm pressure, free flow of energy is encouraged while subtle energy blocks are opened. As energy flow resumes, vibrancy in the face is restored.
  • Relaxation: A variety of simple processes, such as mindful breathing, visualization and meditation that aid in unwinding the body and mind and de-stressing your life. When you enter a state of calm and ease, all the functions of the body are affected in a positive way which brightens the face, smoothes and clears up the skin, minimizes inflammation and slows down the aging process from within.
  • Wellbeing: A combination of self-care, dietary and lifestyle concepts and tips and tricks, that contribute to having good health, increased self-esteem, emotional poise, a joyful outlook on life and an ever-evolving attractiveness.

Anyone who is interested in feeling better, looking younger and developing a state of mental and emotional poise can practice Face Yoga.

The wonderful thing about Face Yoga is that it requires so little. All you need are clean hands and a clean face. Use a few drops of your favorite oil if you wish but it’s not indispensable given the method is gentle enough to be performed without. These exercises can be done any time of day, even with make-up on. It is important to have good posture so make sure you’re sitting comfortably either on a chair or on a yoga mat. It is advised to keep a glass of water nearby to stay hydrated.
